Overview
This project investigates and redesigns Google’s file-sharing user flow to make collaboration smoother, more intuitive, and efficient. The core focus is on lowering friction when sharing files or folders, clarifying permission levels, and providing clear feedback to users at every step.
Key aspects of the redesign include:
Streamlining the sharing process — simplifying how users pick whom to share with and set roles (view, comment, edit)
Improving visibility of access status — so users instantly understand who has what kind of access
Providing better feedback and confirmation — clear messages when sharing is successful, or if there’s an error or conflict
The redesigned flow is backed by prototyping and user-flow mapping, emphasizing clarity, consistency, and minimal steps guided by core UX principles.
